Self-Exclusion Policy
Self-exclusion is the strongest in-Account control Rust Snowball offers. Short-term, long-term and permanent options are available. Once enabled, an exclusion cannot be shortened from within your Account; permanent exclusions require staff review of any reactivation request and may be refused.
This Policy forms part of your Terms of Service.
1. What self-exclusion does
While a self-exclusion is in effect on your Account:
- You cannot place any wager, open any case, join any lobby, accept any tip, claim any rakeback or bonus, or place any deposit;
- Your existing balance is preserved and is not forfeited;
- Pending withdrawals continue to be processed under our normal compliance review;
- Existing trade offers may be canceled or allowed to lapse;
- Your access to read-only surfaces (history, account, support) is preserved so you can manage outstanding matters;
- You are removed from marketing communications and promotional eligibility.
2. Options
Open Account → Responsible Gambling → Take a Break. Options are:
- 24 hour — a cooling-off window;
- 7 days;
- 30 days;
- 6 months;
- Permanent self-exclusion — with no automatic expiry. Reactivation requires a written request to [email protected] and is at our sole discretion.
3. You cannot shorten an exclusion
Once a self-exclusion is set, you cannot shorten it from within your Account. The only way to lift a short-term exclusion is to let it expire. The only way to lift a permanent exclusion is via the written reactivation procedure in Section 5.
4. Increases take effect immediately
You may always extend or upgrade an exclusion (e.g. move from 7 days to 30 days, or from 30 days to permanent). Increases take effect immediately and are written into the audit log.
5. Reactivation after permanent self-exclusion
We treat permanent self-exclusion as a serious decision. To request reactivation:
- Email [email protected] from the email associated with your Account, no sooner than ninety (90) days after the exclusion was set;
- Describe what has changed in your circumstances;
- We will impose a mandatory cooling-off period of at least seven (7) further days from receipt of your written request before we even consider reactivation;
- We may require evidence of engagement with a recognized problem-gambling support service before considering reactivation;
- We may refuse reactivation in our sole discretion. A refusal is final for the period stated in the refusal.
6. Closure as an alternative
If you want to leave the Platform without committing to a future decision about reactivation, request Account closure via our Account Closure procedure instead. Closure withdraws the remaining balance (subject to wagering and verification) and removes the Account from the active roster.
7. Coverage and limitations of self-exclusion
A self-exclusion on Rust Snowball applies only to Rust Snowball. It does not, and cannot, prevent you from accessing other gambling services or websites. We are not affiliated with national self-exclusion schemes such as GAMSTOP (UK), BetBlocker (international), SPELPAUS (Sweden), or any state-mandated registry. If you would benefit from a wider exclusion, we encourage you to use those registries in addition.
8. We may impose an exclusion
Where, in our reasonable judgment based on play patterns, deposit-velocity, chat-content, or your communications with us, you are at risk of harm, we may unilaterally impose a temporary block, a permanent self-exclusion, or other responsible-gambling intervention. We may also impose a permanent self-exclusion on an Account where a third party with a legitimate interest (e.g. a court order, a public guardian, or a verified family member with evidence of harm) requests it. The Account is not refunded as a consequence of an operator-imposed exclusion; the underlying balance remains payable subject to wagering, reasonable verification, and any unsatisfied claim.
9. Circumvention
Attempting to open a new Account while a self-exclusion is in force on your existing Account is a breach of these terms and of our Acceptable Use Policy. Any such second Account will be closed when discovered. Any balance held on the second Account at the moment of discovery may be forfeited at our discretion as liquidated damages for the breach, and we are under no obligation to refund deposits made to the second Account.
10. No liability for circumvention
We exercise reasonable care to enforce self-exclusion using IP, device and network signals, payment-method, Steam-ID, address, and other signals available to us. We are not liable to you or to any third party for losses you incur where you successfully circumvented your own self-exclusion, including via VPN, false verification material, or a new Steam account. The remedy under such circumstances is forfeiture under Section 9, not refund.
11. Support resources
See our Help & Support resources or contact [email protected]. If you are in immediate crisis, please contact a problem-gambling helpline in your jurisdiction directly.
